The Redline Module brings true multi‑stakeholder collaboration to diagnostic engineering. Built on the expanded eXpressML comment architecture introduced in eXpress 8.2, it allows anyone using either the eXpress Design Viewer or DSI Workbench to create structured comments tied directly to elements within an eXpress design. These comments flow seamlessly back into eXpress, where engineers can review them, navigate instantly to the referenced model element, compare proposed changes, and—when supported—apply suggested updates automatically.
Because they are stored in eXpressML—DSI’s open, extensible modeling language for Diagnostic Engineering (and beyond)—comments produced by the Redline Module can be parsed into software applications other than eXpress. Moreover, any tool capable of writing to eXpressML can produce comments that can be reviewed in eXpress or added to the digital archive.
The Redline Module transforms design feedback into part of the authoritative digital thread. Comments can be embedded within the eXpressML model itself, creating enduring, traceable annotations that support audits, sustainment planning, and long‑term model governance.
The Redline Module transforms the diagnostic modeling workflow by enabling structured, navigable, and optionally auto‑resolvable feedback from any stakeholder. It strengthens the digital thread, accelerates review cycles, and ensures that every insight—whether from an engineer, technician, customer, or automated tool—becomes part of the authoritative diagnostic model.
