Interoperability is one of the three “I’s” that greatly impact the capability for a design to be optimized for testability, health management and advanced systems diagnostics or prognostics. Interoperability is a key driver that factors into the success of advanced Health Management (including IVHM, ISHM PHM, etc.), Embedded Reasoning or IETM-focused engineering efforts. Interoperability can greatly leverage data reuse, interactivity between contributing activities, organizations, or suppliers to provide a flexible environment platform for future data or technology updates.
